Been living in loathing way too long
Hate the taste of my name
The weight of the words rolling off my tongue
Keep breathing to live
Don’t know if I’m trying
Did auto-pilot set in
To save me from myself?
My apathy?
My stunted speech?
The strange in me
That won’t stop showing?
Shadows are only as safe as the light that you can reach
I’m reaching out to you
So called sins of the city
So soft
So strong
Searching alleys for change
Finding more of the same shit that has been there all along
Rarely asking for more than common decency
But oh dear God,
Could You spare one fucking moment of Your time
Just to save us from ourselves
Our apathy
Our stunted speech
The strange in we
That won’t stop growing
We’re only as good as the promises we keep
I’ve lost quite a few
But I’m better today
More alive
I can feel it
I don’t care if you’re listening
I’m screaming the truth
